My wife and I had a cultural experience here. The food was so amazing! Nice quiet environment.

This place is always amazing and absolutely wonderful to visit because of their food and the environment. It's a small quaint place.

Authentic flavors and warm hospitality. The injera is perfectly tangy. I recommend option 14, you get a good size sampling of 4 different vegan/vegetarian dishes. Great little spot. Get out of your bubble and try some new cuisine! You won't be disappointed.

We dined yesterday evening at Mesob Cafe; I was the only member of my family who could not finish my dinner this time—but I tried! I am very happy that Mesob Cafe is here, although it is something of a project for us to get to. But it is is always a great dining pleasure, and we feel very festive when we are able to go! Ethiopian coffee is one of the finest coffees in the world, but if you are a coffee lover you already know that. Mesob Cafe will not disappoint you, its coffee served literally steaming hot in a traditional iron pot and a delicate handle-less cup that enables you to sense when it is actually cool enough to drink! The pot contains about three cups of the fine coffee! Close reading of the menu is advised, as the names of dishes may not be readily familiar to Americans, but the descriptions of each dish are quite precise, and to my taste all I have had so far have been delicious. The novelty of the traditional dining, consuming your “bread” plate as you consume the dish itself, quickly becomes fun; skill at this I suppose comes later. You certainly focus on the wonderful combinations of flavors that characterize Ethiopian cuisine! We dine with the knowledge that the Mesob Cafe has become very popular, despite being difficult to find because of its modest sign. The menu often mentions a choice of lamb as the protein in a dish, but as of our fourth visit we have only found very good steak or chicken available—along with a variety of wholly vegetarian dishes. The two excellent cakes, alas, have often been consumed before our arrival—definitely, should you have a piece of either, it will be fresh!

Absolutely Incredible Ethiopian Cuisine! I would highly recommend having Bunna (Ethiopian Coffee) and Shai (Ethiopian Black Tea) before ordering the meal! Such a rich aroma!! The food was bursting with flavor, authenticity, and warmth. Every dish was beautifully spiced and perfectly prepared - the injera was soft and tangy. You can truly taste the love and tradition in every bite. The portions were generous and it felt like a homemade meal showing how genuinely they care about their craft. If you’ve never tried Ethiopian food, this is the perfect place to start. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates fresh, soulful cooking. I’ll definitely be coming back!

this was my first time trying ethopian and extremely happy i tried it at this restaurant. the owner? i believe was extremely nice and accommodating. the food was flavorful and the tea was comforting. the kettle it came in was so pleasing and fun to drink out of. can’t wait to come back again!

First I just want to ask, why do people write bad reviews that have been to this place multiple times and never write about the good times you’ve been? I’ve been here plenty of times and they never disappoint. The staff is always friendly and the food is so good. Also, try their Arnold Palmer (half tea, half lemonade) . I would’ve posted a pic of what I had today but I ate it all lol.

A great spot for vegans! Plenty of yummy vegan & plant-based options in a peaceful atmosphere. Very much enjoyed the flavor combinations, service, and price quality ratio. Already looking forward to the next visit! Highly recommend.
